The Texas Higher Education Board has mandated the integration of reading instruction and writing instruction into one course. This training offers philosophies, techniques, and suggestions for instructors who are making the transition from teaching reading or writing in stand-alone courses to teaching integrated reading and writing courses. The goal of this training is to enable instructors to create an INRW course while incorporating Themes, Informational Texts, Low-Stakes Writing, Just-in-Time Teaching, and Portfolios into their curriculum.
