SDD18: ESOL Pronunciation: A Better Way to Do -ed and -s/-es Suffixes (and more)

Hours: 1.3

In addition to describing practical and easier ways to work with the suffixes, I'll discuss facilitating /s/-awareness and final consonant- / consonant-blend- awareness. And I'll field any questions regarding pronunciation work.

Participants will become much more confident when working with ESOL students on this more difficult but very important aspect of English pronunciation in our Oral Communication and Grammar courses.

Lori Belk has focused on teaching American English pronunciation since finishing her Masters Report (actually a Thesis according to her UT supervising professor) and has worked with international UT professors and graduate students, IBM engineers, and many, many ACC students since then.
