SSSS: What Makes a Good Substitution?

Hours: 1

Ordering a hamburger with onion rings instead of fries or replacing that fired egg on your gourmet burger with avocado is as easy as proposing a substitution to a program. Unlike your burger though, substitutions to programs have strict rules. Your taste buds dictate delicious avocado slices, but Deans and Department Chairs govern their programs. This session will cover the rules governing substitutions appropriate for programs at ACC. Examples and discussion will help you guide students into courses that won’t become stumbling blocks when it’s time to graduate or dispel unrealistic expectations of transfer course work. Common substitutions and the use of D’s will be shared.
