GA15: How can I get my federal student loan debt forgiven? …And Other Financial Aid Tips

Attendees interested in attending this session will gain a greater knowledge on the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program, and learn how to qualify to have their student loan debt forgiven. In this session attendees will learn who is eligible for this program, how to become eligible, and the information that will need to be submitted to the department of education for approval. Information that will also be discussed includes the types of loans that are eligible, the different repayment plans that are required in order to become eligible and how to transfer ineligible loans into the program for eligibility. In addition, during this session attendees will be provided with a series of financial aid tips including the importance of reporting attendance for students registered for their classes.
Eileen Eiden - Student Loan Supervisor at ACC. She has been working with a variety of students regarding their student loan debt for the last six years.
Jason Briseno - Campus Financial Aid Supervisor at Rio Grande Campus and History Adjunct, Associate Professor at ACC. This past year he was nominated for the ACC Teaching Excellence Award. This is his third time receiving this honor.
Both Ms. Eiden and Mr. Briseno will bring a fun and vast knowledge of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program and Financial Aid. Are you ready for PSLF? In 2017, it will be the first year borrowers will be able to discharge loans because of public service.
