GA15: Creating Video Stories Using Mobile Devices

Hours: 3

Foundations in visual storytelling in a media driven culture are just as essential to students today as learning how to read and write. Learn how to tell a story using videos that you capture on your smartphone or tablet during the session. Explore strong visual storytelling and useful tools for creating videos on your mobile device. Whether it is you or your students creating mobile videos, communication and learning become more dynamic with visual storytelling.

Objectives: 1) Create a strong storyline using visual storytelling techniques for a short video 2) Produce a short video based on your storyline using a mobile device 3) Publish your video online, utilizing simple editing techniques and YouTube.

This workshop is presented by Instructional Design Specialist Michelle Escudier and Faculty Development Coordinator Merrilee Shopland.

Merrilee has over 24 years of experience in Higher Education working as an Adjunct Professor and in the area of training and development, with a special emphasis in multimedia and creative teaching strategies. Michelle has over 15 years of experience in the instructional technology and design field with strong experience in distance education. She also teaches as an Adjunct Online Instructor.
