GA15: A, B, C's of Working with Students with Disabilities in the Classroom

Hours: 1.5

Participants in this workshop will learn the basics of disability and accessibility services, including procedures for students and faculty to use to meet ADA , as amended, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, requirements. Participants will have a chance to solve typical classroom issues using real-life scenarios and to ask questions regarding how to work with students with disabilities in the classroom.

Steve Christopher is the Director of Special Populations, ACC's ADA Compliance Officer and Process Holder for Student Accessibility Services.

Lauren Sebel is the Student Accessibility Services Coordinator II at the Highland Campus and is currently completing her dissertation for a Doctorate in Education in Higher Ed Administration with a Community College emphasis.
