RR: Build a Better Blackboard - Anyone Can Code

Learn to troubleshoot your own formatting problems in Blackboard! I have over 20 years of experience in web design and want to help demystify how the web works for your benefit. I'll cover some very basics of HTML and how this can make building your classes in Blackboard faster. Especially if you have multiples of the same class! Being able to grab a bit of code to copy and paste, rather than copying a whole item, will make your life much easier. If you've ever hit that Source Code button in a text editor and wondered how to decode all the symbols you see, this is the class for you! If your tables go wonky or your links aren't working, this is the class for you. If you've wanted to up your accessibility game by learning how screen readers and other assistive devices work on the web, this class is for you!

Remote Recess sessions offer an opportunity for faculty to gather online and learn something new in a low-stakes, casual, and FUN way. Each session focuses on a topic (like Blackboard Collaborate), starts with a short demo, then the facilitator opens the session to Q&A. Participants are encouraged to share tips and tricks as we all learn how to teach remotely together.
