TLED: The Future of Work Summit-Equity and Opportunity in the Covid 19 Pandemic

Hours: 0.75

Covid19 has revealed and highlighted disparities by socioeconomic status and race/ethnicity. Previous discussions highlight the need for upskilling, reskilling and access during and post Covid-19. However, how we do this has implications for either widening or closing the equity gap. Research from the Georgetown CEW has shown that higher ed has served as a passive agent in the systematic reproduction of white racial privilege across generations. Disparities in attainment by race/ethnicity also leads to disparities in occupational outlook by race/ethnicity. This webinar will explore implications of unequal access to higher ed, online and otherwise - PostCovid19.

Presented by:

Dr. Nicole Smith (Chief Economist, McCourt School of Public Policy, Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce)
