TLED: The Future of Work Summit-Jobs and Education in the Covid19 Pandemic

Hours: 0.75

The Covid19 Recession has resulted in the greatest monthly job losses in the history of recording these numbers. While the majority of these job losses are temporary and will eventually return with the softening of social distancing restrictions, some of those lost will not return. Success on the economic front is directly dependent on success on the health front. But assuming adequate levels of fiscal and monetary policy at the macro levels still leaves open the need for policy responses by educational institutions on the micro level. This webinar will discuss job losses in the pandemic by industry and occupation and provide some discussion on the implications for the future of education demand.

Presented by:

Dr. Nicole Smith (Chief Economist, McCourt School of Public Policy, Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce)
