SSD20: Tools for Formative Assessment

This workshop will demonstrate and allow attendees to use tools that engage and gather input from students to help guide instruction, for both online and face-to-face learning environments
A participant walks away with:
- Information on and experience with tools that can be used for retrieval practice, spacing, interleaving and metacognitive feedback to improve learning retention and student engagement.
Presenter:
Dr. Herb Coleman is the retired Director of Campus Technology and current Adjunct Professor of Psychology and Student Development. He has 31 years experience teaching at ACC and has constantly employed technology to enhance student learning. His current instruction involves the use of clickers, Plickers, Google Classroom, iPads, ACC Accelerators, as well as Blackboard (including Collaborate) and other online software. During the COVID-19 remote teaching he has used both Collaborate Ultra and Google Meet along an assessment App that he designed using Glide Apps.
