IDS: Assessment Re-Design: Rethinking Your Assessments for Remote Learning

Hours: 1.25

Let’s rethink and brainstorm ideas for incorporating alternative assessments. This workshop will enable you to transform assessments that measure and promote student learning, select tools to support your learning outcomes, and apply practical strategies for engaging with students. We will also discuss equity and accessibility considerations when altering your assessments.

Learning Outcomes

After completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the importance of aligning assessments and learning activities with learning outcomes
  • Identify assessments that can be modified or altered
  • Identify the course tools/technologies used to support your learning outcomes
  • Discuss the unnecessary constraints that may need to be removed to accommodate learning for all students
