SDD19: Experiential Learning
Hours: 1.33
We will share information on Experiential Learning, as a means to connect students from the classroom to the professional world. Goals are to educate department faculty on OCEI's function, discuss the benefits of participating in experiential opportunities such as internship and service learning, and workforce development, and the process for faculty.
Participants in this workshop will walk away with an increased awareness of OCEI and experiential learning opportunities here at ACC.
Kathryn Naughton is the Internship Coordinator for the Office of Education and Cooperative Internships. Originally from Omaha, NE Kathryn has spent the last 7 years working in workforce development and business outreach. New to Austin and ACC she hopes to blend her passion for higher education, community outreach, and workforce development together to develop a nationally recognized internship program. Her workshop, "Experiential Learning" is geared toward ACC faculty to help build awareness, excitement, and confidence around Internship and Service Learning opportunities. |
