SDD19: Work Smarter, Not Harder: Streamlining the Study Process for Success

Hours: 1.33

Academic Coaches from ACC’s Learning Support Services team share their tested methods for cultivating successful independent learners. Participants practice our learning system--culminating in our Tri-Part Method that combines Cornell note-taking, SQ3R reading techniques, and traditional study guides into one dynamic tool--useful for online/in-person sessions.

Participants will learn more about the Academic Coaching resource, as well as gain practical skills in Cornell note-taking, SQ3R reading techniques, and other study tools in order to best support student success.

Monica Burmicky, Supervisor of Academic Coaching and Adjunct Faculty in the Student Development Department has her M.S. in College Counseling and Student Development and has been certified in Academic Coaching from: National Tutoring Association, LifeBound, and Inside Track. She, along with two other experienced Academic Coaches, Joseph Lockwood & Rachel Ozanne have helped and supported countless ACC students in the Academic Coaching department.
