ASK Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training for ACC Faculty/Staff

Hours: 2

Suicide is one of the most preventable deaths, but all too often lack of knowledge in how to directly ask about it, intervene and refer prevents people from reacting. Participants at this training will receive instruction on how to ask if someone they know is considering suicide, what are common risk factors as well as common protective factors, and what resources are available (within ACC and in our communities at large) that we can refer to. ASK is a gatekeeper training to help better equip people with what to look for if they are concerned someone is at risk of suicide and how to intervene in that situation. Participants can also expect to walk away with a better understanding of resources that are available for ongoing support of these people for whom they are concerned.
