SSD17: Student presentations Slides, Mix(s), and Spark

Hours: 1.25

This will be an introduction to Google Slides, Microsoft Mix, and Adobe Spark for use in student presentation assignments. Of course, they can be used for faculty presentations as well. Faculty will get a brief hands-on introduction to the three tools that can be used for students feedback or student presentations in the class or online.

Faculty will create 3 short presentations (one with each software) so they can experience what their student would in class. They will walk away with 3 new tools and application they use for gathering and presenting student work.

Dr. Herb Coleman is an Adjunct Professor of Psychology and Student Development as well as retiring Director of Campus Technology Services. He has taught psychology at Austin Community College for over 25 years. In his role as Director of Campus Technology Services, he assists faculty in obtaining, learning and using technology to enhance instruction. As a faculty member, Dr. Coleman uses technology from clickers and podcasts to Google Classroom and social networking in his classrooms. As Director, he has trained faculty in using technology such as Skype, Twitter, YouTube, computer classroom control software and iPods to iPads in instruction. He also frequently leads discussions on copyright, appropriate use of technology and computer ethics.
