April Faculty Forum: Examining Student Learning & Labor Market Outcomes

Hours: 3.5

Join us for the April Faculty Forum and learn how to connect student learning outcomes to occupational competencies. Instructional Services, the Faculty Senate and Adjunct Faculty Association have partnered to focus this year’s Achieving the Dream site visits on faculty engagement. Dr. Brad C. Phillips, President and CEO of the Institute for Evidence-Based Change and Achieving the Dream Data Coach, will be the keynote speaker and share his research on improving educational practice and outcomes through the effective use of meaningful data.

Faculty who attend will:
1. Participate in a brainstorming session (by Area of Study) around student learning outcomes
2. Discover how employer expectations help to support academic student learning experiences
3. Learn about the power of O*NET in creating pathways that link curricula to careers
4. Learn how to identify alignment, misalignment or absence of student learning outcomes with occupation-specific competencies

*Please bring copies of student learning outcomes and if possible, electronic devices to access the internet.

For questions or to let us know about dietary restrictions or other accommodations, please email Courtney Grams at courtney.grams@austincc.edu.
