SDD17: Effectively Connecting with Minority Males in Today’s College Classroom

Hours: 1.25

Austin Community College’s Male Leadership Program offers the following opportunity for instructional faculty: Professors Dr. Archie Wortham and Dr. Mark Sadler, from Northeast Lakeview College, Alamo Community College District, will provide a tag-team presentation and host an interactive dialog with audience members on topics addressing the needs of “men at risk.” Both professors will focus on effective classroom strategies. Both presenters have shared their knowledge and experience at numerous events and more recently at the Minority Male Institute, Minneapolis, MN. Participants are invited to engage the speakers through discussion and the planned Q&A format. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided, space is limited so sign-up early.”

This Workshop will run from 11:50AM - 1:05pm. Lunch will be provided.

Faculty will learn about strategies found to be effective in engaging minority males and will avail themselves of opportunities to ask questions and get answers on "what works." Lunch will be provided.
