VoiceThread is an interactive collaboration and sharing tool that enables users to add images, documents, and videos to online discussions. VoiceThreads can be used for learning activities or graded assignments.
This workshop is intended to instruct faculty members on how to create and use VoiceThreads, an asynchronous audio/video communication tool that has recently been integrated into Blackboard. At the end of this workshop, faculty members will have created a VoiceThread that can be used in their face-to-face or online classroom.
This workshop will be completed in a computer lab where faculty members will participate in hands-on activities. Participants will learn to:
- Add a VoiceThread to Blackboard
- Set up a Voicethread link
- Create a VoiceThread Activity
- Create Graded Assignments
- Insert hyperlinks, videos, and other media
- Record video and audio comments on the fly
- Edit a VoiceThread
- Grade a voicethread
- Discuss how the use of VoiceThreads benefits students
- Discuss best practices
- Brainstorm ideas on how to integrate VoiceThreads into your course
The presenters are instructional designers at Austin Community College. Both Kathy Serra and Michelle Escudier have Master's Degrees. Both are experienced online instructors with expertise in course development and training. In addition, they have both designed and given extensive training on using Blackboard and other technologies and applications. |
