SDD17: At-Risk Students: Planning for Success

Hours: 1.25

There is a new department in Student Services! The Student Success and Data Analytics team would like to share an overview of our work with participants, framing current and upcoming retention strategies that will benefit incoming and existing students. We are in the process of implementing an Early Alert technology named CRM Advise to help Student Services and faculty intervene with at-risk students in real time.

Participants will learn more about The Student Success and Data Analytics team and how we can serve faculty and staff. Participants will learn more and have an opportunity to ask questions about CRM Advise, Go App, and Illume.

Dr. Jodi Denyszyn, South Regional Manager of Retention and Intervention, has expertise working with at-risk first-year college students, marginalized populations in K-12, and in the non-profit sector. A researcher, practitioner, licensed therapist and adjunct associate faculty, Jodi enjoys her dynamic role at Austin Community College.
Matthew Figg, Central Regional Manager of Retention and Intervention, is a licensed therapist with experience providing addiction, career counseling and other mental health services to at-risk youth and young adult populations in Travis County, specifically in the non-profit sector. He loves data!
April Whalen, North Regional Manager of Retention and Intervention, is a licensed therapist with significant experience in crisis intervention, business and non-profit organizational development. She has a particular interest in the transitional nature of community college student development.
