SDD17: Seamless Assignments, Grading and Communication with Google Classroom
Hours: 2.75
In this workshop, faculty will experience Google Classroom from a student's point of view and then practice setting up their own Google classroom for making announcements, posting and grading assignments, "flipping" their classroom, and providing a communications stream for their students. This paperless, seamless process works through ACC's Google Apps for Education and the students' ACC gmail. Coordination with Blackboard will be explored.
Due to our gmail infrastructure the system known as Google Classroom allows professors to make announcement, assignments, grade assignments, pose questions and even have online discussion with their students, accessed directly from the student's gmail. This tool enhances communication, planning, record keeping and class organization. Faculty will leave the workshop having created their first google class and posting their first announcement.
