GA16: What's New in IT @ ACC
Hours: 0.75
This session is to inform the ACC faculty and staff about the changes in IT (and IRT) that have taken place over the past year. In response to the IT audits there has been a re-org, change in governance structure, combining of support and enhancement of services to better meet the needs of this ever growing District. Other IT professionals will be on hand as well. This session will feature an extensive Q & A portion.
Participants should leave this workshop knowing how to contact IT for support of their technology. In addition they will be aware of how to log on to computers in IT labs, classrooms and Adjunct Faculty offices. They will have an understanding of the new structure of IT and the former IRT (now, Instructional Services). They will understand the reasons for the changes.
Herb Coleman, Ph.D. is the Director of Campus Technology Services (CTS) and Adjunct Professor of Psychology. With more than 25 years of service, he has seen a lot changes take place across the District. He is one of the key leaders involved in the recent changes that included the shift of 50 + positions from Instructional Resources and Technology (IRT) to Information Technology (IT), the unification of support services and the unification of ACC network domains.
