GA16: A Guide to ACC’s Guided Pathways Implementation
Hours: 1.5
Wondering what all this guided pathways talk you’ve been hearing lately is all about? This session will help get you up to speed. We will begin by providing you with some background on what the guided pathways framework is, why ACC is implementing it, and how the implementation plan was developed. We will then provide an overview of the projects Instructional Development has managed during the first phase of implementation, including instructional program mapping and a revised enrollment process that helps new students make informed choices about their area of study, program, and credential. Finally, we will let you know what to expect from the next phase of ACC’s guided pathways implementation.
Participants will walk away with: the ability to describe what guided pathways are, why ACC is implementing them, what we have done so far, and what efforts are still to come.
Laura Lucas and Jennifer Gray are instructional designers (IDs) who are managing some of ACC's guided pathways initiatives. Laura, the ID at Highland Campus, has an M.A. in Sociology from UT Austin and has been with ACC for almost 6 years. She served on the Futures Institute and has been involved in the redevelopment of the new student enrollment process. Jennifer, the ID at Northridge, has an M.Ed. in Educational Technology from UT Brownsville and has been with ACC for 15 years. She is managing the pathways mapping process for instructional programs. |
