SDD16: Intro to Meditation with Gentle Chair Yoga

Hours: 1.5

Objective: Lead participants through several different guided meditation experiences, discuss what meditation is and isn't and how to start a personal practice.

In this workshop, participants will learn about several different styles of meditation and will have the opportunity to practice several brief (5-10 minutes) guided meditation experiences. We will discuss what meditation is and what it isn't, what the difference is between meditation and mindfulness, and we'll also discuss how to incorporate this valuable practice into your daily life. The session will also include several gentle yoga exercises you can do right in your chair to help release stress and tension from the body and prepare for a more productive and focused meditation experience.

Kari Wilson is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance with over 500 hours of training in yoga, breath work, anatomy, philosophy, and meditation.
