SDD15: Student Accommodations in Clinical Placements

Hours: 1.5

An examination of institutional obligations associated with clinical, student teaching, externship and internship placements. Topics that will be discussed include:

-Distinguishing accommodations in the academic setting from those in the workplace;
-Using proper protocols for assessing a students qualified status;
-Adopting and enforcing technical standards;
-Addressing health and safety concerns;
-Avoiding discriminatory treatment; and
-Safeguarding students rights while maintaining third party agreements.
