Workshop & Event Registration v2.0

In this workshop we will discuss best practices for adding service-learning to an existing course and/ or developing a new service-learning course. Does service-learning work in every discipline? How many hours of service should be required? How do we make sure the service is really integrated into the course? What problems come up predictably? Participants may want to bring a syllabus for a course to which they are considering adding service-learning.

Jane Johnson, Ph.D., is a Senior Lecturer at UT-Austin, where she is the Coordinator of Outreach and Service-Learning in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. She teaches two service-learning courses in Spanish and has co-written two textbooks for such courses.
