SDD15: I Never Metacognition I Didn't Like

Hours: 1.5

Join us for an exploration of metacognitive learning from the point of view of the student and the instructor. Find out just what metacognition refers to, the role it plays in the learning process, and the benefits that come from becoming a more metacognitive teacher and learner. You will leave with an appreciation for the concept and practice of metacognition and a set of tools that you can apply in your own classroom starting next week!

Tobin Quereau is the Assistant Department Chair leading the Student Development Department. He teaches the PSYC 1300 Effective Learning course and the SDEV 0111 Transition to College course to students at several campuses across the college and is active with the Faculty Development Advisory Group. He has been teaching at ACC for over thirty years and is beginning to get a handle on how to manage that job!
