GA14: Using Purpose, Pattern, & Process in the Classroom: Panel Discussion with the Authors

Hours: 1.5

Purpose, Pattern, & Process is a textbook used by a number of Composition I instructors here at ACC. To coincide with the release of the tenth edition of the book, authors Lennis Polnac and Arun John will facilitate a panel discussion with instructors who have used the textbook in their Composition I classes. Topics of discussion will include: designing effective assignments based on the readings in the text, helping students comprehend the theoretical framework outlined in the book, and teaching the application of the books writing strategies in a practical and systematic manner. In addition, Lennis Polnac will outline the changes to the new edition and discuss the authors' expectations of how the book could be used effectively within the classroom.
