GA14: Stressed & Distressed: How to Respond to Students in Mental Health Crises

Hours: 1.5

The purpose of this workshop is to address how non-clinical staff and faculty can identify and respond to students who are in emotional distress and possibly experiencing mental health crises. The topics covered will include: identifying warning signs, approaching students in distress, asking the right and the tough questions, recommending resources, and following up.
