GA13: Teaching Creative Thinking in the Arts

Hours: 1.5

Help students start thinking about developing a personal vision in school and in their later careers. Teachers do a good job of teaching the basics in the arts. But, how do students use this knowledge to create art that is relevant in the 21st century that will propel their art towards a bigger goal. These principles have been used successfully by artists of the past and former students of the presenter, students who exhibit internationally, (Venice Biennial, Smithsonian Institution) and teach in prestigious schools in the US, Canada, Europe and South Africa. This workshop is based on a book that is in preparation and an excerpt may be found at www.artcreativitycontroversy.com Presenter: Claude Van Lingen
