QEP: Mathmorphosis: Techniques to Help Developmental Math Students Gain Confidence
Hours: 1.25
| For many of our developmental math students who struggle with the subject matter, the time spent in our course "can" have a cocoon‐like impact on their academic lives and beyond. As teachers, what we say, what we do, AND how we present subject matter can mean the difference between student apathy and student enthusiasm. Join us as we actively explore ways to motivate dev math students to become active participants in their learning process. Those who attend are sure to take away tools and ideas they can use immediately in the classroom to help students develop wings.
This workshop is part of ACC's QEP and is offered as an annual speaker series to enhance faculty skills. This year's symposium is brought to ACC by Cengage Learning, Faculty Development and the QEP Leadership Team.
The workshop presenter, Damon Givehand, a consultant with Cengage Learnings TeamUP Faculty Programs expertise is in student engagement, motivation and retention, especially as it relates to developmental math courses. |
