GA12: Domestic Violence: What every educator should know

Hours: 1.5

Domestic violence is sometimes defined as a pattern of assaultive and coercive behaviors used against one member of a domestic partnership to maintain power and control over the other. In most cases the victim of domestic violence is a woman. In fact, about every 9 seconds a woman is assaulted or beaten by their intimate partner in the United States of America. In this workshop you will learn what domestic violence is, more about its scope, and what you can do as teaching faculty to help end the violence.
