SSD21: Working with Captions on Adobe Premiere Pro and other ACC Resources

You created a video and now you need to caption it, but you have no idea where to start. Not only is captioning your videos a must for accessibility compliance, but it can also help engage your viewers and improve the comprehension of content.
Adobe’s video editing software, Premiere Pro, will soon be releasing the speech-to-text transcribing feature, so you can easily create captions with just a few clicks. Learn about the new captions feature in Premiere Pro and the other tools offered at ACC to make your captions workflow simple and stress-free.
About the Presenter(s):
Victor Sibaja-Molina (Manager) and Angelica Peterson (Video Producer) are part of the Instructional Media Production (IMP) team under the Office of Academic Technology (OAT) and the Teaching & Learning Academy (TLED). Aside from his 7 years producing media at ACC, Victor has a background in TV, broadcasting, and Master Control operations, as well as a M.Ed. in Management of Technical Education.
Angelica Peterson joined the ACC team back in February of 2020 and has quickly established herself as a highly talented and dependable creative professional at the college. She brings with her 7 years of video production with higher education and experience in the development of content for social media platforms, such as YouTube and Instagram.
The IMP team is responsible for supporting the college by developing Instructional Media that facilitates teaching and positively impacts student learning. In addition to instructional media projects, the IMP team also collaborates with teams across the district to produce special projects, such as the General Assembly, the Teaching & Learning Academy, and ACC’s OER initiative. Sharing the knowledge about tools and resources available to faculty and staff at ACC is an important part of their mission. The IMP team is passionate about empowering people to create their own media and embraces a philosophy of lifelong learning.
