SDD21: iPad Accessibility and Productivity Tools

Technology is most powerful when it empowers everyone. iPad OS comes standard with a wide range of assistive technologies that helps all students and faculty learn. Understanding the accessibility and productivity tools available on your iPad can improve efficiency and your course accessibility.
A participant walks away with:
- Exploring productivity and accessibility tools to help deliver an impactful experience to all students
- Discovering built-in accessibility features which allow you to customize your iPad for your individual needs
- Learning how to use features that can increase productivity such as split screen, drag & drop, dictation, files
What to bring/know prior to the session:
- Know the passcode on your iPad
- Know your Apple ID and Password
- Make sure your iPad software is up to date. You can check by going to: Settings > General > Software Update (latest iPadOS as of today is iPadOS 14.2). If a software update needs to be downloaded and installed, please do so at least a day prior to the session.
- Join the Webex from a computer or secondary device and have iPad handy in order to follow along.
- Make sure your iPad is charged as well as any accessories (Apple Pencil, Logitech Crayon, etc.)

This presentation is presented by our colleagues and friends at Apple. Our presenters today are Dr. Charles Long and Dr. Amanda Orndorff and they are part of Apple's Leadership Executive Team. This team works with university and college leadership and faculty to help build capacity and connect you with ideas, other campuses, and share in educational innovation that best supports the ACC community.
