SDD21: Career and Transfer Services at ACC

Did you know that ACC students have access to services that help them explore their next steps after ACC - whether it be direct entry into the workforce or to a four-year institution? ACC’s Career and Transfer team is available to help students plan their future and take their next steps. Attend to meet the Career and Transfer team and learn what services and resources Career and Transfer Services provides.

A participant walks away with:

  • Meeting ACC’s Career and Transfer Specialists, understanding the role the career and transfer team plays in supporting student success, and learning about the resources available to students.


Presenter(s):

Abigail Garza joined ACC in 2019 and has worked in higher education for over 3 years with experience in mentoring and advising. Abigail recently completed a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy from The University of Texas at Austin. Abigail serves the South Austin, Riverside, and Hays campuses.

Shantelle Harper came to ACC in 2018 and has worked in higher education for eight years with a focus on career services and student services. Shantelle completed her master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration on Occupational, Workforce, and Leadership Studies from Texas State University. Shantelle serves Cypress, Round Rock, and San Gabriel Campuses.

Edgar Medina came to ACC in 2017 and has worked in higher education for 10 years with a focus on career services and employer relations. Edgar recently completed a master's degree in Higher Education Leadership from The University of Texas at Austin. Edgar serves the Eastview, Elgin, Highland, and Rio Grande Campuses.

Ram Vela came to ACC in early 2020 and has worked in higher education for 13 years with a focus on career case management and job skills training with the disability population. Ram received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas at Austin, Ram serves the Northridge and Highland campuses.
