SDD21: Understanding Viruses, including update on SARS-CoV-2

A general description of the nature of viruses and how they affect living organisms. This presentation will include updated information about the virus causing COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2).

A participant walks away with:

  • A better understanding of how we are affected by viruses with specifics about the pandemic affecting just about everyone in the world.


Presenter(s):

Steve Bratteng has been studying and teaching various aspects of biology at the secondary, college, and university levels for over 40 years. His past experience includes supervising freshman biology labs at UT Austin, work in biowarfare at Fort Detrick, teaching middle school and high school science, and now in his retirement years, teaching biology at Austin Community College.
