What are HITS: High Impact Teaching Strategies? The “greatest” HITS are ten evidence-based instructional practices that have the strongest impact on student learning. Join us to develop new skills and extend existing ones as you practice delivering impactful instruction that increases student engagement and academic performance. Even if you are already using HITS, enhance your teaching and increase your understanding of the “greatest” HITS research. Move from research to practice in a collaborative feedback environment.

A participant walks away with:

New HITS users will walk away with a bank of reliable instructional practices that maximize student engagement and achievement.

Existing HITS users will add to their understanding and explore new ways to apply best-practices in the classroom.

Presenter(s):

Cheryl Thompson Price is passionate about faculty development that leads directly to measurable student success outcomes. She has over ten years of experience in higher education. Her current ACC contributions include: adjunct professor of Student Development (EDUC-1300 & SDEV-0111); a TLED Course Developer (Growth Mindset module); Computerside Chats facilitator (a virtual faculty training sessions that discusses “Teaching for Learning: 101 Intentionally Designed Educational Activities to put students on the path to success”); and, a coordinator and math instructor for the College Prep Program which assists students in preparing for the TSI. Her recent past involvement includes being an Academic Coach; a trainer with the ACC Foundational Coaching Initiative; the creator of the ECHS ASK Seminars; a presenter at the 2019 College, Career & Technical Conference; and, a blog contributor: “COMMUNITY is the Longest Part of our Name.” She has also presented at the National College Readiness Institute for Educators in D.C. and is a two-time ACC Riverbat Excellence Award Recipient.
