SDD20: Fund your ACC Passion Project in 24 Hours
Hours: 1.5
Each year, the Alumni Network partners with the Foundation and "I Live Here I Give Here" to raise money and awareness for scholarships during Amplify Austin. Amplify Austin is our city's 24-hour online giving campaign which raises millions of dollars for hundreds of local nonprofits. This 24-hour period provides and fun way for our entire community to come together to support student success! It kicks off on March 5th at 6pm.
This year we are excited to announce that faculty and staff may submit proposals to participate and harness the energy around Amplify Austin to fund your ACC Passion. Participants in this workshop will learn about Amplify Austin and the resources available to raise funds and awareness of their programs. Participants will also receive information and resources available through the "I Live Here I Give Here" and "Give Gab" (the software used for crowd funding during Amplify Austin's 24-Hour giving frenzy). They will also discover techniques for designing a compelling campaign that supports the goals of ACC's Strategic Plan. Individuals that attend will have the opportunity to pitch proposal ideas to Alumni Relations staff and learn about the steps in creating a campaign and the approval process.

Mary Ann Cicala has twenty years of experience in community engagement and higher education marketing, fundraising and alumni relations. She holds an M.A. in Communication Management from Emerson College and has also been on the teaching staff at the Harvard Extension School for Business and Organizational Oral Communication.
As the Founding Director of Alumni Relations at Austin Community College, alumni stay connected due to the engagement strategy she launched. She’s from the Arizona Sonoran Desert and Boston’s left bank, and she loves campfires with guitars, karaoke, musicals, good improv, reading books, warm days, music festivals, illustrated journals, front yard gardens, good cookin’, funny babies, sleeping kittens, and kindness. Not necessarily in that order. |
