GA16: Integrating Web Conferencing into Your Teaching for Student Success

Hours: 1.5

Faculty will develop the basic skills to:
1. Host virtual office hours.
2. Conduct virtual study/review sessions for students.
3. Offer live, virtual one-on-one or group tutoring sessions to students.
4. Provide live, virtual feedback while viewing student work.
5. Present course content live and record session for archive for student review at a later date.
6. Deliver distance learning and hybrid course virtual classroom content and activities.
7. Demonstrate technology skills by sharing computer screen/application.

Peg is currently an Instructional Designer at the South Austin Campus. She supports faculty in course design and the development of instructional activities and course materials for traditional, hybrid, and online Courses.
As adjunct faculty, she has taught both Computer Science and Psychology courses at Austin Community College. Prior to the adjunct faculty position, she was both a counselor and advisor at Austin Community College.
She completed both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in Speech and Language Pathology at the University of Texas at Austin. In addition, she completed all the coursework for the counseling program in Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin, equivalent to a second masters degree. She has advanced to candidacy in the Ph.D. University of Texas, Curriculum and Development Department program.
