Hours: 3

In this hands-on, practical training by ACC CARES Counseling Faculty, you will learn how to identify concerning student behaviors as well as strategies for collaborating with ACC Resources such as Campus Assessment Response Evaluation Support Team (CARES). You will receive important resources for procedures related to concerning student behaviors such as how and when to make a referral to counseling services vs. student discipline, how and when to make a referral to CARES, and when a situation requires emergency intervention. The second half of the workshop focuses on practical training and includes case studies, workgroups, time to practice with CARES resources, as well as a panel discussion on challenging student situations.
