SSD18: Searching for Bigfoot: What does your online footprint look like to your students?

Hours: 1.25

"We all want to connect with our students and create a community where students can connect with each other. This session focuses on giving yourself permission to explore resources, tools and techniques for connecting online with your students, even if you live in a cave!"

Participants will be able to:
1) assess of the effectiveness of their current practices for connecting with students through an online technique.
2) identify potential resources for online teaching and learning.
3) identify tools for online teaching and learning.
4) identify an activity that may take online connections to the next level.

Scott Gibby teaches Spanish but also has a PhD in Curriculum & Instruction, so he brings the methodology of an Instructional Designer to his courses as well. As a result his classes are almost permanently in a state of redesign. He has taught face-to-face, hybrid and DL courses and tries to implement the best practices from each one into the others as well.
