SDD18: Helping your ESL students become better writers in your content area classes

Hours: 1.3

ESL (English as a Second Language) students have different language and writing needs than their native speaking counterparts. Often times instructors do not have experience with addressing these different learning needs in their classes. In this workshop I will provide some practical examples and activities that will help your ESL students become better writers.

Participants will be able to scaffold meaningful writing tasks for their students.
Participants will have a better understanding of the diverse needs of ESL writers.
