SDD18: Strategies for Supporting Student Engagement and Persistence

Whether you're teaching online, hybrid or face-to-face there are strategies you can implement to help support your students throughout the life cycle of your course to keep them moving forward in their academic goals.

Participants will take away a variety of strategies to implement into their course to help students succeed.

Dr. Rachel Barrera is an Instructional Designer for the Teaching & Learning Excellence Division. Prior to joining ACC she was serving as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the UT-Austin Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas where she was part of a globally dispersed team that designed and managed MOOCs. She also spent several years as part of the UT Center for Teaching and Learning developing and presenting workshops on pedagogy for graduate student instructors. Dr. Barrera specializes in the design of face-to-face, online, hybrid and blended learning spaces to support student engagement and persistence.
