GA15: Mindset and the Non-Traditional Student

Hours: 1.5

The presenters will briefly cover the research of Carol Dweck (and others) regarding how to help students to understand how their view of learning (Mindset) impacts success. It is the aim of the workshop to assist faculty to incorporate the ideas of "Mindsets" into their classes. Faculty should leave the workshop with at least one tool that they can use in class to help their students to better learn the course material. Research has shown that these techniques have a greater impact than even teaching study skills.
