Dr. Quinonez went over the degree plans and stated addressing the need to combined Climbing Skills I and II into one course. Dr. Quinonez stated that Mr. Elkins has some handouts and wanted to cover several concerns. Mr. Elkins passed a copy of the Climbing Skills course syllabus, a list of pole yard activities and explained the challenges to train students. Mr. Elkins brought several issues to the attention to the board to take action. The following items were addressed and the board will be voting on them by e-mail:
a. Combine Climbing Skill I and II into one course
b. Space allocation to expand to another campus with more space
c. Storage area needs to be more secure
d. Add more class time and longer days instead of weekly sessions
e. Create a tool identification course
f. Create the Lineworker Institutional Certificate
g. Add additional climbing skills into the course to train to any climbing industry needs
h. Create a mechanical assembly course
i. Add more climbing instructors to have variety on the schedule
j. Stated that lighting is needed to teach at night
Other discussions from several board members were about reaching out to Veterans and Dr. Quinonez explained ACC district limitations. He stated that we can work with other colleges in regards to course articulation. He mentioned that we had the DOE grant were a lot was invested in marketing and he agreed that we can do better to reach out a larger audience.

Dr. Quinonez explained the purpose of creating an Energy Committee and explained the election process. He suggested sending Ms. Galliano the ballot results to nominate a Chair or a Vice-Chair.

4. Dr. Quinonez stated that we were running out of time and if anyone wanted to address anything in regards to the renewable energy degree. Mr. Morrison addressed the need to add the Smart Grid course into the Renewable Energy Associate Degree. Mr. Morrison suggested that the Construction course needed to be more applicable to the renewable energy needs as well as learning building furniture.
Mr. Hechel suggested that the following courses are needed to be removed from the Renewable Energy Associates degree: CETT 1429 Solid State Devices, COSC 1315 Fundamentals of Programming, and CETT 1445 Microprocessors since they have little connection with the degree.
