Faculty Scheduling
- Summer 2024, most classes were filled. 5 sections still up for grabs. Still needing some folks to fill those classes
- Staying within our limitations
- Adj ( 6 LEH)
- FTF ( 18 LEH)
- Classes taught by Adjuncts 3.75 LEH ea
Presenter

Discussion
Not allowing. Restricts adj faculty to one of the classes. Come up with inventive scheduling strategies.
- Dean ( not approving excess overloads over LEH limits)
- If enrollment doesn’t pick up in some of the classes, cancel and switch students to different sections.
• Summer 2024
- Enrollment looking good for the Summer 2024 Semester, running ahead of pace
- Things are catching up
- Accounting Dept 45-47% represent enrollment of Business Studies
- Good Summer Enrollment Students have until May 28th to enroll for the Summer 2024 Semester
• Fall 2024
- Annual Schedule- Fall 24, Spring 25, Summer 25, Students have the ability to plan their schedule out for the year. Getting scheduling done in a timely manner
- Looked at previous academic year, only sections that made the schedule, were courses that had about 67% enrollment.
- Classes that barely made, will not appear on the Fall 2024 Schedule
- Make sure that there are classes for everybody. (At least everyone has gotten one class to teach)
- Posted preferences on E -Staffing, assign sections to additional adjunct faculty
- Adding Sections as we go throughout the Summer and approach Fall
- Suggestions,
- Scheduling as many sections. Take a look at the Schedule for the Summer, Changes for the Fall 2024 as enrollment increases.
- FTF- typically take overloads. ACCT 2301 and 2302 ( less sections for the adjuncts)
Assign upper division course, fully loaded- going to have to give up the course
-Kelli Blount-Adding Courses for the Fall 2024 Semester- Hybrid No 2302 Courses. Mistake not including one. Has been addressed. Not on the course schedule/live schedule
2nd 8 weeks NRG 2302- Make sure it gets added.
Thanks to Kelli- Looking at the schedule pulling info together figure out where the gaps were. Losing courses (not enough enrollment)
Ardra- On The Technician Program ( One Class for 1426) class wasn’t given to her. One section of each course on the schedule. Schedule may not look identically the same.
- Johnny will be taking the course , need the course for his load as a FTF
- Jeff- very few classroom sections for the Fall, 2301 and 2302 (More synchronous), Enrollment through the Summer and they fill up, look at adding sections.
- Raul- Class given to a FTF, in case a class doesn’t make, Adjuncts get courses that don’t get taken away at the last minute.
- Yolonda- Be the same for the Technician Program, classes offered in the 1st 8 weeks and not the 2nd 8 weeks section.
- As enrollment goes up, more classes or sections will be added
- Jeff- Fall 2024 Schedule, populate Lighthouse, if given a class already.
- Denise- other Divisions reacting to the schedule- Enrollment is going to drive the course schedule, doesn’t permit faculty to plan their lives for the upcoming semesters. Or students know they have options. Surprise in the Fall with the Enrollment. Communication issue for advisors and students. Refining and making it better. Difficult with scheduling. (Has 2 classes)
- Ardra- plan and take one course, if the course is unavailable. Prerequisite courses
(One section of every course)
- Darryl- Another person teaching the lab. ( Consideration) Dean is not in favor of that. Interested in teaching a lab or two for a Full-Time Faculty that is over their load. Look at the limitations on hours. Dr. Peoples- lab assistants teach the lab (did not have to have a Master’s degree) ,while FTF or Adjunct faculty started the classroom. 2301 & 2302 labs or lectures if interested send Larry an email. Not too many unassigned classes.

- Most are supposed to have 3-5 PSLO’s.
Technician Program: Quickbooks- Adding some other PSLO related to the Professional Accounting
-Data- regarding our current year. PSLO that applies to 2301 and 2302. Question breakdown for 2301 and 2302. Meeting Objectives or Not. What are we measuring or looking for students to achieve?
Tracdat- Analysis, what impacts the student’s performance. Placing more emphasis on Action Stategies even if the goal is being met. All coursework can benefit from continuous improvement
Met/Exceeded- Action Strategies, Success of students completing a degree of certificate. Greater detail to assure the process is taken seriously
-Students meeting 80%. Mess with the Assessment to get better results. 70 out of 70 ( least expectation)
- Student Success and what other support is being provided for the students to be successful. Helping students meet their needs.
- Additional PSLO’s- Is there a way ( Small Committee ) Take a Look at PSLO’s and see if we can do this in a smarter way given the credentials are stackable so that we can work smarter and NOT Harder. Getting an Assessment that covers a number of awards. Award Maps. What courses are required for each certificate. How we are going to link PSLO’s to that awards. 2301 and 2302 largest group of student. Assess 2301 and 2302. PSLO’ s improving past rates, What will be helpful? Improving performance.
- Question Breakdown: 2301 and 2302. Ideas ( Kelli Blount what percentage each student got on each question) Getting an average. ( Kelli, May Claudia, Darryl, Kimberly)
