AY23 DE Data Recap
Presenter
Erasmus Addae
Discussion
Distance Education is taking a stronghold nationally and is the preference of a lot of adult learners. About 40% of ACC students are taking DE courses. There are ongoing projects with Student Services/Learning Labs including embedded tutoring and coaching services. It is no longer only for gateway courses. Currently ACC has no AI guidelines. The DE department has put together some resources for faculty. TLED will publish it soon to be shared with faculty. The work was finished in May 2020. It will not need to be approved by ASAC because it is a living document. Best practices are guidelines and will not be used for evaluating faculty. There was no motion to put it in the handbook at this time. A motion passed to change the title. This will be on the agenda for the November meeting. Here is the link to best practices. https://docs.google.com/document/d/16c6-Sg3kEDQDqGe9ldLVwefDqIc4MCFU1ex729EW9i8/edit

Some students are granted permission to take exams on campus if they have technical difficulties. Tests are limited to an hour and a half.
