Item # 1:	Review minutes from January meeting

Item # 2:	Strategic Plan Item Regarding screening/assessment

Discussion	Strategic Plan section 1.1.5 – incorporated preparedness-focused instrument for online enrollment process by: 1) adding instructions to the website with links to instruments (i.e. the Am I Ready? Quiz & the Technical Skills Checklist) a) Question: Could this be added as a link in Self Service so students would be more likely to see it? i) No, Enrollment Mgmt perceives that as an additional barrier/step ii) It is being added as a link on the homepage 2) creating Bb quiz versions of the instruments to be used at the beginning of the course a) This is optional for instructors & we know how we will get faculty to use it, yet b) Want to make this a requirement (??) for instructors, makes this the instructor’s responsibility c) Would also be a good tool for referring students to academic coaching within the first 3 days of the term d) Ideally, these tools could show up as soon as the course opens to students and nothing else would be available to them within the course e) This could be built into a template for courses, but that would require faculty to use the new template f) Suggested add: friendly reminders with wrong answer feedback (suggestions for other prep/skills workshops/offerings for students based on their answers) i) This would also take the responsibility off the faculty member for providing appropriate referrals

Item # 3:	Course Shell for Orientation

Discussion	1) What is the process we would need to go through to make this automatically generate? a) There are things like a video on firearms that already auto-populate b) Someone said we need to push for gaining institutional acknowledgement that this is possible and commitment to make it happen

Item # 4:	Distance Education Symposium in November 2019
Presenter	Erasmus Addae
Discussion	1) There’s a planning task force that has been planning the DE symposium for the past 2 years 2) Need sponsorship this year (previously from Bb), need to pay for a keynote 3) Are there any committee members who want to serve on the task force? Give names to Amy and Pam

Item # 5:	Elect Chair and co-chair for FY 2019
Presenter
Discussion	1) Pros & cons of choosing chair & co-chair for next year a) Don’t know who all will be on the committee next year b) Leadership could start planning now for next year 2) Approved: Motion to submit to Shared Governance a petition for an IT representative 3) Motion to submit to Shared Governance a request for an Enrollment Management representative 4) Approved: Motion to have co-chair be called chair-elect instead and to become chair the following year to train them and prevent loss of knowledge 5) Elected April to be chair next year 6) Elected Azzura as chair-elect next year
