Dr. Peoples asked everyone to make sure that their classes were correctly listed in both schedules and to let him and Katy know if there were any corrections. He reminded them that they could not choose a 2nd overload until all adjunct faculty had been staffed.

Dr. Peoples asked if any of the Full Time instructors were interested in teaching this course provided that Sheila was not to continue teaching the course. We had one instructor that would do if necessary. Katy would check to see if Sheila would be continuing to teach the course and let Dr. Peoples know. If Sheila would not be continuing to teach the course, Dr. Peoples suggested that we could move one section back to the classroom and have an adjunct instructor teach it.

Book orders for Summer are due by March 1st and the book orders for the Fall Semester are due by April 1. Katy sent out a textbook inventory to all Full Time Faculty to review and asked them to review the list, if there are any changes, additions or a book needs to be deleted to please let her know. We want to avoid any problems in ordering textbooks and not having the correct book by the beginning of the semester.

There was some discussion on the First Day Access of adding other courses to the First Day Access for the Fall Semester. To be included were ACNT 1331with ACNT 1347 to follow the next semester. ACNT 1371 for the Fall Semester and ACNT 2303 would follow the next semester and then ACNT 2304 would be next. Other course would go to First Day Access, ACNT 1329, ACNT 1403, ACNT 1404, ACNT 1475, ACNT 1392, ACNT 1393.

Larry Stephens presented a Project Proposal - Project ACC Faculty Fellows. One of the items he suggested as a Pilot Program was implementing journal activity in place of discussion board. Dr. Peoples asked how you would do a study on the virtual classroom. The objective of this project will be to introduce student to the process of academic journaling and self-reflection.

Kristy McDermott asked how is the department keeping up with those student taking ACNT 1347 that are not on the CPA track,here seems to be a high drop rate for these students. here a number of students that come in to take ACNT 1347 without having taken ACNT 1331 here at ACC. There was a proposal to have students take ACNT 1392 as a prerequisite before they take ACNT 1331 especially for those students in the Tax Specialist degree.

Discussion on adding the accreditation to the Professional Advanced Certificate, the Accounting Technical Specialist Degree, the Accounting Professional Advanced Technical Certificate, the Tax Specialist Degree. Dr. Peoples reminds students that when they apply for graduation, they should include the AAS Specialist Degree and the Professional Advanced Technical Certificate Degree. . Accounting has a 42.4 of total degrees at ACC.

Exam Window Policies for Upper Division Courses (Testing Center)

There was some discussion on students taking their exams in the testing center. There should be some flexibility for students to give them some extra time take exams in the Testing Center for those students that work. In the classroom the time could be shorter at the discretion of the instructor and give them a weekend option for those students that work as well, leaving the testing open over the weekend.
