Introduction of two new Full Time Faculty Members, Kelli Blount and Karina Parlato. Larry asked the committee to review the minutes from the previous meeting of May 4th, a motion by Denise White and seconded by Jim Pumphret to approve the minutes was passed by the committee.

There were four nominees, Jeffrey Brennan, Jim Pumphret, Virginia Hauser and Sean Counterman. There was a motion to approve the new members by Denise White and seconded by Kimberly. all four nominees and the Task Force members were approve for this academic year.

Review of Spring 2019 Schedule

Dr. Peoples suggested that we add two courses at the new San Gabriel Campus and it was approved. Jay wanted to move one of his ACNT 1347 classes to the Eastview Campus and the day to be changed from Tuesday to Wednesday. A request was made to move the 12 week ACNT 2375 to the 16 week session. Kelli asked if we could move the starting time for ACNT 2332. All changes were approved unanimously by the committee.

Adjunct Staff for Spring 2019

Dr. Peoples mentioned that the Adjunct staffing Phase 1 ended on September 2 would be available to faculty during September 25-27 on eStaffing. Assignments of classes would begin on September 28 and must be completed by Dr. Peoples by the deadline of October 2. Katy will email a reminder about the deadlines to the adjunct faculty.

Dr. Peoples asked the committee if we wanted to include the Upper Division courses in the 1st Day Access. There was some discussion regarding this proposal. Denise said she would not be opposed to it. Kelli asked if there was a way to let students know during their 1st semester that going forward they would be paying for their book and any access when they paid their tuition. Dr. Peoples said that he would explore with the Bookstore about this possibility and how it would affect the students. Dr. Peoples also mentioned that enrollment was up by 1%, however, the Spring was still down. Starting with the 2019 Spring Semester all classes in the Technician Program would be strictly online.

Review/Discussion of Becker CPA Review Proposal

Larry mentioned that during the Summer he, Tracie and Reed met with the representatives from Becker, We Basically Told Them That We Would Have To Bring It before the Task Force Committee to consider and then we would get back to them with an answer. We want to be ready when they come in to demonstrate how their product would be beneficial for our students. The next Task Force meeting would be when Becker will come and present their materials and it will benefit ACC and our students.

Update of Accounting Student Events for Fall 2018 and TSCPA membership

Items 7 and 8 are combined. Larry mentioned that there would be an Information meeting for all Accounting students on September 22nd from 10:00 am to 12:30. Talk about the Program Questions. I put together a panel of Alumni and Got Five Individuals Coming for about 45 Minutes of Panel Discussion Q&A type stuff to talk about their experience here in the Program, have one student in the program she's been a number of years in an Accounting Firm Rights Management Partner. We also have Joe Mayer coming to we were able to come and be on the Panel as well. We also have others coming from the Internship Office to talk about Accounting internships. Tracie and I Met Sam Greer to talk with Students about Opportunities to get Internships. We will have another meeting to meet the Firms on October 20. Larry asked instructors to give forms to their students about becoming members of the TSCPA. Student Representatives would be coming to your classes for a brief talk to students.

Mandatory Trainings & Lighthouse Requirements

All Faculty and Staff must complete their training on: Addition to the ADA and Sexual Harassment Training so We All Have To Do Last Year They Implemented a New Training over This Year the Cyber Security Training That We Need to Do, I Think That Given Us till Early November to Finish That One Supposedly It Takes Couple Hours 18 or 20 Modules Six Minutes Apiece. https://eapps.austincc.edu/workshops/ In addition Faculty MUST do their Lighthouse by the beginning of the semester: https://eapps.austincc.edu/lighthouse/. Committee Assignments for ACCT 2301 and ACCT 2302

Denise passed a paper on the questions for the assessment on ACCT 2301 and asked if it was agreeable to stay with only questions, it was decided unanimously by the committee that these questions would work. A committee was formed to assist her with ACCT 2302 assessment questions, it would be Jeffrey Brennan, Kelli Blount and Jay Thibodeaux.

At the Back School Meeting about a Product That Person Is Offering in the Database Wendy has made it available to us to consider using our class about the Excel and Creating and Getting Credit for the Badges and Taking the Exam I'm Just Curious if anybody had a chance to go and sign up for that through the Pearson My Lab . I believe it is set on how that it is set up. There was an Email from Wendy and It Had the Instructions I Can Send That out Again and Let You Know Because I'm Curious to Know Because with the Way Things Are Kind of Moving.

Accounting Advisory Committee : Friday, October 19, 2018; TSCPA Accounting Educators Conference in Dallas: October 26-27.
