● Outstanding team developed the curriculum.
● Several layer of approval
● Develop a curriculum
● Then Board of Trustees - Dec 4
● Dec 17 submitted proposal to coordinating board
● Senate bill 21 18 - Community Colleges to extend to expand to Bachelors program
● Had to show a need in the community, local support, support letters from partners and state legislatures, Teach out agreements with 4-year schools, had to show there was not capacity in other programs that were available to students or what we had was different than what was being offers
● Board of Nursing had to approve our RN-BSN program submitted on Feb 2 - Had to submit a paper document of 771 pages. And we received approval Feb 21
● Approved through the Board Staff
● Then to Coordinating Board - received approval April 2018
● As of June 14 we approved by SACS
● We could not register student s into the program until we received SACS approval. We will have our first classes Fall 2018
● Karen Cooper - Put info button on our website and Keren looked at transcripts unofficially to see what students were ready to enroll in the program
● After June 14 - we posted and started taking application
● We have 28 students who applied and were accepted
● We are approved to offer hybrid and face-to-face courses
● We were not approved to do total online courses

We are excited about the diversity of the group. Initially we were not able to offer Financial Aid. Seton and St David’s Foundations created scholarships and they were awarded. The scholarship will take care of tuition and fees. 2 weeks ago we were approved by Department of Education for Financial Aid for these students.
Dr. Rhodes spoke this week, ACC is the first and as of now there is one other community college that has been approved for the nursing program. We are excited as well as the students
● SACS visit - ACC has a five year SACS visit.
● Coming Sept 18-20 to visit our RN-BSN program
● Nursing Accreditation is set for last 3 days in February

● Giving credit for up to 36 hours
● We want to clean up the language for course descriptions to make it easier for the students to understand

Question from floor, why Chemistry was not included in program requirements - Coordination Board approved without chemistry course for the RN-BSN program.

Creating a position called Baccalaureate Specialist. Will be specifically working with RN-BSN students
Eventually offer students an advising session each semester
Baccalaureate Specialist will be doing information sessions and recruiting
Most of our students are already employed. 6 months after graduation we will ask students the impact of the program for them in order to get a more accurate impact of the program.

● Hope to work with research class
● We have online tutorials for students to be aware of the resources available.
Nina - ACC has amazing resources. Will have eventually have writing centers at every campus. We also have strong support services

Community and Leadership Clinical and Preceptor Discussion

● On the Degree Plan - two courses have Clinical components - 64 hours of clinical for each course
● We need Advisory input on any other components needed
● Yvonne - scout clinical preceptors in advance - develop portfolio of what is needed by and from preceptors
● Gail Acuna - now that we will be competing with other schools, do internal assessments of facilities to see how we can assist in not over-burdening the locations
● Pat - at information sessions we told students now you can do the fun stuff. Opportunity to do community outreach and services. Ex: work with homeless, shelters, etc.
● Gail - there are a lot of leadership opportunities in the community.
● Nina - please email us if you think of an organization that might be able to provide a clinical experience
